One of America’s ‘Coolest Small Towns’ is in Wisconsin
Looking for a place that is loaded with "cool?" You might want to book a stay in this tiny Wisconsin town.
That's because Far and Wide just named this place, with a population of 2,565 as the Coolest Small Town in Wisconsin.
Sure, they looked at other states and named the best in Illinois, but it's one you have probably been to before (Galena, and one that's been covered a million times) so I figured I'd look north.
YOU NEED TO VACATION IN MINERAL POINT
How about Mineral Point? Far and Wide says this is the spot in Wisconsin.
A different kind of mineral gives Mineral Point its name. The former mining town in southwestern Wisconsin dates back to the early 1800s and still houses original structures that are filled with memorabilia, such as the Pendarvis mining site and the Mineral Point Railroad Museum.
As is the trend with the small towns on this list, Mineral Point's art scene is a pretty nifty reason to visit as well.
Using TripAdvisor to plan out a long weekend with the fam the AI suggested I lodge at the 23 Steps Inn or Travelers Inn while in town.

The website also suggested we check out the Mineral Point Railroad Museum, Wantoot Modern American Art and Craft attraction, and Alley Stage.
WHAT ABOUT THE FOOD IN MINERAL POINT?
For me, the best part about traveling to a new town is the food. Looking at dining options TripAdvisor AI said Cafe 43, Popolo Pizzeria, Red Rooster Cafe, and the Gray Dog Deli as some of the top options.
Altogether it sounds like a fun little getaway town and how often can you say you've been to one of the "Best Small Towns in America?"
Mineral Point is only a 90-minute trip northwest of Rockford.
