Many students in the Cedar Rapids Community School District and their families don't have enough food and the district is now trying to help.

They're calling it the "Pop-Up Pantry CR". In a week where school attendance will again be limited due to weather, the donation drive is a time-sensitive call to action at the following locations where you can bring and donate food, the earlier in the week the better: Cleveland Elementary, Franklin Middle, Kenwood Leadership Academy, McKinley Middle School, Metro High School, Nixon Elementary, Roosevelt CC Business Academy, Wilson Middle School, Wright Elementary and the Wellington Heights Neighborhood Association.

Spearheaded by Saige Turner, it's an effort to get food to students in schools with "the most students on free-or-reduced lunch plans - eight of which have greater than 60% of kids on the plan."

2-Hour delays will not impact the use of these sites as donation spots.
