Cedar Rapids Restaurant’s Opening a Huge Success [PHOTOS]
The first few days since a new Cedar Rapids restaurant opened their doors have been a resounding success. Crab Attack Cajun Seafood Shack started taking orders last Thursday, April 30 for pickup the following day. They've been fully-booked on orders every day since.
It was about nine long months ago the new restaurant, at 1117 1st Avenue Southeast near Coe College, first teased Cedar Rapidians about its impending opening. I wrote a story about the restaurant in January. A few issues with the construction build-out happened and then after announcing they were beginning to hire in early March... well, you know, the COVID-19 pandemic hit Iowa. It resulted in final inspections being delayed. Final approvals came in mid-April and last week, the restaurant opened.
To say patrons have been pleased with the food would be an understatement. These are some of the comments from the restaurant's Facebook page:
Toby P.: "Fantastic food!!!!! The full attack was made to perfection and exactly what we needed here in Cedar Rapids. This will become a new staple for any food lover."
De'rrel C.: "Everything was really really good chicken with a nice size definitely it and enjoyed that. Crab legs, crawfish, potatoes, corn, everything was amazing..."
Brian H.: "Thanks!!! The full attack is awesome!!!! We'll definitely be back!!!!!!"
KL W.: "The Full Attack & Cajun Pasta was delicious, I will definitely be back!"
The owners tell me they'd "like to thank the state of Iowa because we have had patrons coming from all over to try our food."
The new restaurant is taking orders by phone or via direct message on Facebook. They return the call to confirm and get payment information, which is required in advance. They hope to begin same-day ordering this week, depending on food delivery schedules to the restaurant. That should please a lot of people who won't have to wait a day to sink their teeth into these incredible-looking foods:
