An early morning robbery report in Iowa City set off a chain of events Tuesday that led to the arrests of two people. A third person has died, following a shooting.

Tuesday morning, just after 12:30, the Iowa City Police Department was called to Center Street and Davenport Street after a man reported he had been robbed by people he knew. The man told police he had been hit with a pistol and that one shot was fired, but no bullet had struck him. He did report minor injuries after being hit with the gun. He told Iowa City officers the suspects had taken off in a white vehicle.

Just under two hours later, officers from the North Liberty Police Department located a vehicle matching the one believed to be used in the robbery outside of a home at 60 David Lee Court, in North Liberty.

Tuesday morning at 5:10, Iowa City Police were talking with the residents of the David Lee Court address when gunshots were heard inside the home. The other occupants were evacuated, as were those in adjacent condominiums.

The Johnson County Special Emergency Response Team cleared the home and found 21-year-old Dairion Cortez Bradley of Cedar Rapids dead inside. A witness told police the gunshot was self-inflicted and, according to a release from the North Liberty Police Department, it was "supported by visual evidence." An autopsy is being conducted before the case is closed.

During the course of this morning's investigation, two juveniles in the home at 60 David Lee Court were arrested and charged with Robbery in the First Degree. They're being held at the Linn County Detention Center.

The North Liberty Police Department, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa City Police Department, Coralville Police Department, North Liberty Fire Department, Johnson County Ambulance, Johnson County Special Emergency Response Team, Joint Emergency Communications Center, and the Johnson County Medical Examiner’s Office were all involved in the case.
