Cedar Rapids Mall Celebrates 60 Years With Summer Block Party
Earlier this week we told you that the owners of Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Luckily, things at Lindale Mall should not change, as the mall will remain open during the process. It's a good thing too as the mall is getting ready to celebrate a big milestone--60 years in business!
In celebration of Lindale Mall's 60th anniversary, they are hosting a big summer party. According to Iowa News Now, the 60th Anniversary Celebration will take place on Saturday, June 26 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the mall parking lot along Collins Road.
The outdoor event will be completely free and will feature food trucks, carnival rides, a rock-climbing wall, face-painting and more activities for families. There will even be live musical entertainment from Running in Place, and Jef Spradley with L.D. Kidd. An extra perk is that the first two hundred people will get a free t-shirt that they'll be able to tie-dye at the event.
Although the 60th Anniversary Celebration is free to attend, the mall is asking that you register in advance. The carnival rides and games require tickets that you can purchase in advance as well. To register or purchase ride/game tickets, visit the mall's website HERE.
