The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier recently made a $1,000 donation from the Cedar Falls Order of Eastern Star to push Cedar Falls police to their $30,000 for body cameras. The original plan was to share cameras between officers which proved to be frustrating and unmanageable. It proved difficult to keep the cameras charged, as well as make sure they were in peak condition. With a budget that would not cover the cost, officers and the local community felt they were a priority in protecting our officers and community and prioritized the issue.
