On Friday, Sandi Martin said she was playing with her cat Lilly, but Lilly kept sniffing the valve that goes to her family's fireplace.

Sandi wanted to know what Lilly was smelling, so she leaned down and took a sniff herself. She immediately recognized the odor of natural gas.

Immediately, Sandi called her gas company, who sent someone to look at the leak.

Sandi adopted Lilly from Cat Adoption Team. Lilly has had an interesting life, living with leukemia and extra toes.
