BREAKING: Police Sergeant Found Dead In Waterloo
We have sad news to report out of Blackhawk County this evening. It appears a Waterloo Police Sergeant was found dead in his home. This news comes courtesy of a Facebook post from Waterloo Police Chief Dan Trelka.
Trelka said the following on his personal Facebook page: "On Sunday, April 15, 2018, Sergeant Robert J. Greenlee III (Waterloo Police Department) was found deceased in his residence. His death does not appear to be suspicious in nature and cause of death is pending an autopsy. Sergeant Greenlee was a respected husband, father, police officer and member of the community. He will be missed by many. Funeral arrangement information is pending at this time."
Again, this was a post by Waterloo Police Chief Dan Trelka. The post has already been shared by over 500 people and that number continues to rise. It's very clear Robert J. Greenlee III was a very well respected member of the community.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Robert J. Greenlee III.
