Boil Water Alert for Ely

What's going on with the water in Ely? City officials aren't sure, but there is obviously some concern. Today the Iowa DNR has  recommended the city issue a boil water alert until further notice.

According to Ely's city website: "The DNR strongly recommended issuing a Boil Advisory to alert the community of the potential issue because it effectively encourages people not to use water, which helps us maintain positive pressure throughout the system".

It also states "There is no set timeline for how long the advisory will last. The advisory has the potential to extend into the weekend"

So before you drink the water in Ely, you should boil it, jsut to be on the safe side.
