Turns out that reliving college days at my age is a bad idea. I'm still recovering from my trip this past weekend to Minnesota with a couple of old college buddies. We took in a Twins game and... well... basically drank. Below is a picture of Ryan, myself and Collin (L-R) before the hangovers...

Just because we drank a lot doesn't mean that's the only thing to do in the Twin Cities. The town had all kinds of entertainment options.  We decided to attend a ballgame since two of us hadn't been to Target Field, the ballpark the Twins have called home since 2010.  It was a gorgeous evening, and was a much better setting to watch a game than the hideous old dome (Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome) they demolished recently.  Here was our vantage point at Target Field, one before first pitch and the other at nightfall...

It's 275 miles (around 4.5 hours) from Cedar Rapids to Minneapolis. That, by the way, is one of the great things about being in CR. You're a reasonable road trip away from being to a number of very cool Midwest cities... Iowa City - 28 miles. Des Moines - 128 miles. Chicago - 248. St. Louis - 284. Kansas City - 319. Being a music lover, I'm always checking to see who is coming to these cities, readying myself for a concert trek.

On the same night that we attended the Twins game, there was great stuff happening all around Minneapolis, including great venues for music. There was live music happening at the classic First Avenue club. There's Orpheum Theatre and State Theatre if you want to go class. There's The Cabooze if you want to spill beer all over yourself while jamming out. With that being said, Collin claimed he actually prefers the St. Paul vibe, which we didn't even have time to check out.
