I saw this sign on Interstate 380 as I was driving to work this morning. I INSTANTLY pulled out my phone and snapped a few pictures. That's right, while I was driving, I took out my phone to take a picture of an IOWA DOT SIGN. Clearly, I'm not very smart.

As it turns out, I wasn't the only one. I had the picture texted to me from a couple friends later in the morning. It was obvious their photos were taken from the drivers side of the vehicle. "Beth" is a KISS song, the joke is funny and it made me laugh. I'm also a huge KISS fan, that's why I took the pic.

But is this type of content safe for Iowa drivers? What if someone is trying to read the sign and runs into another vehicle? What if you don't understand the joke and get confused? Could these one-liners be dangerous and possibly deadly?

It's all part of "Message Monday" from the Iowa Department of Transportation. Maybe I'm overreacting, but clearly I was distracted! I just think these signs should be used for amber alerts and emergency information.

Don't get me wrong, I love the joke! It's fantastic. But I think there is a time and place for things like this. Maybe I'm just getting old....what do you think? Comment below and we can discuss!
