The Chicago Cubs are making their second consecutive trip to the National League Championship Series, losing in four straight to the New York Mets last year. If they can defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers in the best-of-seven series, Chicago will return to the World Series for the first time since 1945. If they reach that plateau, the Cubs will try to break a string of seven consecutive losses in the Fall Classic. The last time they won the series, as any Cubs fan can tell you in an instant, was 1908. That number is significant to those that are superstitious.
