We might never know.

For the record, there was a million dollar winner in Davenport and a $10,000 winner in Marion. But someone cashed in big Tuesday night on Mega Millions Mania, winning the nearly $1.6 billion jackpot. The winning ticket was sold in South Carolina, where they have the ability to remain anonymous if they win.

The winning numbers were 5, 28, 62, 65, 70 and Mega Ball 5. Iowa is one of 44 states to participate in the Mega Millions game. Aside from those Quaker Oats employees a few years ago who won a combined total of $241 million in Powerball, notice how we hardly ever win the big one?! You can't win if you don't play, as they say. If and when the winner steps forward, it's likely they're taking their time figuring out how to handle and invest the money.

However, in 8 of the 44 participating states, including Delaware, Georgia, Kansas, Maryland, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina and Texas--you can choose to stay anonymous forever (which, with this loot, might be a good idea).

Powerball is now up to $620 million for Wednesday night, so if you're feeling lucky or a little jealous, head out and pick up a ticket.

Good luck and congratulations to the winner of Mega Millions Mania!

Now, excuse me while I consult Ancestry.com to find any relatives I might have in South Carolina.
