A New Sushi Restaurant Has Opened in Downtown Cedar Rapids

All you can eat sushi, here we come!

Back in early October, we told you about a new restaurant that had put some signage up in Downtown Cedar Rapids. Izumi Sushi & Hibachi moved into the former Wasabi Sushi restaurant at 221 2nd Ave SE, and, at the time, we didn't know much about it. The only information we had was that the restaurant is based out of North Dakota, and the Cedar Rapids location will be the fourth restaurant overall, but the first to open out-of-state.

Thanks to some new Facebook posts in the Deetz - Let's Support Local Facebook page, we now know a lot more about Izumi Sushi & Hibachi, including that it's officially OPEN! The business' Facebook page reads:

"We are pleased to offer fresh sushi, grilled hibachi, curries, teriyaki dishes, noodles, appetizers & more! We are an independently owned, family-friendly company & look forward to serving you soon!"

Izumi's website includes a look at their menu, and it is HUGE. In addition to that standard menu, they also offer an all you can eat lunch for $17.95 and dinner for $27.95. The site says to "order all you want, but eat all you order" so that you don't waste food.

Izumi Sushi & Hibachi is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday & Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Even though it just opened, it's already getting some great reviews! A Facebook post from Shelli Marin reads, "We ate there Wednesday night and were not disappointed! So much food!!! We will be back!"
