A New Restaurant Has Opened in Jones County [PHOTOS]
Boondocks Burner & Emporium is now open for business!
Back in December, Boondocks announced on Facebook that they would be moving to a new location at the end of the year. The shop opened on Black Friday of 2022 and was located at 202 W Main Street in Anamosa, but its new home is at 130 E Main Street in Anamosa. The location isn't the only thing that changed about Boondocks, though!
According to the Facebook page, Boondocks is now a shop AND a restaurant! A January post reads:
"They say timing is everything …. We always had plans to add a kitchen when we moved, but that was going to be in the future. You know what they say about the best laid plans…while scrolling through Facebook one day I say a post and I immediately called Todd and asked his thoughts, which led us to changing plans quickly! We are happy to announce that Betty Biggart and Melinda Morarie will be running the kitchen at Boondocks! Timing is everything and we feel incredibly lucky to have these ladies on board!"
After posting sneak peek photos on social media with their rubber duck mascot "Billy" for weeks, Boondocks officially opened its doors to customers on February 23rd. Just a couple of days later, the restaurant revealed that they had so many customers that they ran out of food! It's clear that the community has really rallied around the new business.
The menu at Boondocks Burner several different burgers, tenderloins, and sandwiches, including the "Boondocks Special," which is a a fried bologna sandwich on grilled Texas toast with lettuce, tomato, and mayo. It's served with a PBR, a Moon Pie, and potato chips. The restaurant also offers a homemade dip flight, fried cheese curds, homemade egg rolls, portabella fries, and other appetizers.
Boondocks Burner & Emporium is open Sunday & Monday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. For the latest updates, you can check out the official Facebook page HERE.
