A New Bar for Bicyclists is Now Open in NE Cedar Rapids

Get ready for a new place to grab a drink between The Pedaler's Fork and Sag Wagon! The Loose Chain is preparing to open in the very near future.

According to the official Facebook page, The Loose Chain is an "open concept bar" located at 1731 Center Point Rd NE. The building is on the corner of 29th Street and Center Point Road NE, which used to be home to an auto shop. It's is right off of a popular trail, so it will be a convenient stop for bicyclists in the area.

A recent article from KCRG reports that The Loose Chain is owned by Amy Winker and Jake Brummer, who have more than a decade of experience in the restaurant business. They hope to provide "a unique atmosphere" that will attract customers who are eager to get out and socialize. The building features three big garage doors that open to the outside and plenty of bike racks for customers to utilize. As far as drinks go, all ten taps will be dedicated to local beers, while domestics will be available in tall boys. The food menu will be very limited, but they will have free popcorn always available!

The Loose Chain hasn't announced an official opening date yet, but they are hoping to be up and running in July. For the latest updates from the new bar, you can follow the Facebook page HERE.
