KCRG reported that traffic crashes in Iowa have killed 366 people in 2016. That equals more than one person per day, and there are still several weeks left in the year.

Last year's fatality total was 320. The Iowa State Patrol told KCRG that the main causes of fatal crashes continue to be distracted, drunk, and drowsy drivers. They also urge motorists to put down their cell phones while behind the wheel.

The state patrol also urges drivers to use greater caution on roadways during winter driving conditions. Reduce your speed and arrive alive.
