The much discussed construction project that will completely close the bridge over the Cedar River on Highway 965 is set to begin today. Officials say the bridge will be completely closed for at least 3 months while repair work is completed.

The bridge had been shut down to one lane of alternating traffic since spring. The construction project became necessary after the bridge failed an inspection back in May.

The bridge is scheduled to reopen in late November, but the project could be pushed later depending on weather conditions.
