UPDATED 2:30 AM 1/5/2022:

Mother Nature is set to bring more winter weather our way this evening across most of Iowa.

The good: It will be warmer as the highs should reach the 30s today, but it will be short-lived.

Tonight, the temperatures will plunge and bring along gusty winds, and areas of blowing snow. Winds could gust as high as 50 MPH.

Peak wind gusts may reach 35 to 50 mph across much of the state tonight producing bitter cold wind chills in the teens and 20s below zero. The combination of the wind gusts and a light dusting of new snow could also produce areas of blowing snow and reduced visibilities, especially in rural areas.
