Iowa and Iowa State have never both been ranked when they've met on the gridiron. Until this Saturday.

This would take the in-state rivalry to a whole new level.

In recent years, the rivalry has been one-sided and this move won't help.

Athletic officials will formally announce the hiring during a virtual news conference Friday at 10:30 AM.

The Cyclones appear to have selected Steve Prohm's successor, although there's been no official word from Iowa State.

The Hawkeyes and Cyclones are both continuing their seasons in the NCAA Women's Tournament.

Only 205 days until Iowa and Iowa State begin the 2021 season.

Ten former Hawkeyes, along with two former Iowa State Cyclones are on the rosters for this weekend's conference title games.

The teams will head in opposite directions to conclude their 2020 seasons.
