Elf is obviously the greatest Christmas movie made after 2000, and it's no surprise someone would recreate a moment from the movie in real life.

Doug Henning (No, not the magician), dressed up as Will Ferrel's character Buddy the Elf to meet his father face-to-face for the first time ever, and it was in the middle of Logan Airport.

He even broke into song, just as awkwardly as in the movie, singing “I’m here, with my dad. And we never met, and he wants me to sing him a song!”

"When he came out of the airport, he probably thought I was a lunatic," Henning - a 43-year-old man singing in an airport - told Boston.com. "It was a really good way to break the ice."

The worst part of the joke, was that his father hadn't seen the movie, so it's quite the surprise he didn't just keep walking and pretend he was someone else.

Henning says his adoptive parents were amazing people, but was excited when some cousins he met through Ancestry.com hooked him up with his biological father.

The two got to meet on Zoom, and Dad was able to fly to Boston to meet his son.
