An Iowa mand suffered serious injuries after accidentally shooting himself outside an Iowa gun show on Sunday. The Davenport Police Department responded to a report of a gunshot victim at the Big Bore Enterprise Gun Show at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds on Sunday afternoon.

Police determined that a 42-year-old West Liberty man had accidentally discharged his firearm while seated in his vehicle. No one else was injured. The man was transported to a local hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.

Loaded weapons are not allowed at the fairgrounds, including the gun show. Police say they're deciding whether to charge the man for violating the ban on loaded weapons. The victim's name has not been released, but hospital officials say his condition has improved.
