We have been sharing details about this developing case in Western Iowa. Lucy Studey is working with investigators to solve a series of murder cases that involve her deceased father. She claims that her dad, Donald Dean Studey killed anywhere between 50 to 70 people over the course of three decades.

Donald apparently made his children dump the bodies in a well on their property in Thurman, Iowa.

"Every time I went to the well or into the hills, I didn't think I was coming down. I thought he would kill me because I wouldn't keep my mouth shut."

Law enforcement officials suspect her father's victims to be primarily "sex workers or transients" that were picked up in Omaha. You can read more details about this case and the investigation here.

More details about the long history of this case are coming to light. Fifteen years ago, Lucy Studey went to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office and told them what her father was apparently up to, according to a report.

The investigators messed up the search and excavated the WRONG site! They went to a different location than the one Lucy told them about.

"She (Lucy) told us in 2007 and we went out and there was only one well on the property that we could see, we didn’t realize that it was on other people’s property,” said Tim Bothwell, Deputy Sheriff of Fremont County.

Donald Studey died just six years later at the age of 75.

This is still an ongoing investigation. We'll make sure to keep you updated as the story progresses.
