Did You Know One of Your Childhood TV Heroes is From Iowa?

One of my favorite shows to watch when I was 3-6 years old was the Power Rangers. I would get home from school or daycare and my dad would give up the TV for 30 minutes to let me watch these teenagers kick some Lord Zedd, Goldar, and Rita Repulsa butt.

The Power Rangers were so huge for 90s babies that you'll still catch grown adults dressing up as their favorite ranger for Halloween. I remember having a Red Ranger action figure growing up, losing it, and finding it a year later buried in a couch somewhere. I brought that action figure with me everywhere I went after getting it back as I was afraid to lose it.

In 1995 the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie was released and every time I find this movie on tv, I still watch it. Am I incredibly immature and kind of a nerd?! Yes. Does this movie remind me of having a ton of fun as a kid and pretending to be a Power Ranger at daycare? Absolutely. Did you know one of your childhood Power Ranger heroes is from Iowa?

David Yost is an actor, producer, and now writer, who was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He's been in the tv/movie business since 1994 and has an exciting new project (hopefully) underway. More on that in a bit.

In most kid's shows when you have a group of crime fighters you have 5 basic characters. You have the leader of the group, the angry one, the funny one, the girl who kicks butt, and the character who's good with computers. Yost played the blue power ranger and would be considered the techy person in the group. Yost has been involved in multiple Power Rangers projects since 1994 and is looking to continue a new possibility with your help.

Yost has written an 8-episode series called "Power Rangers Quantum Continuum" and there has been a petition on Change.org to get this show made. This show would bring back all of the original cast members and it would explore what the original characters have been up to since the series ended.

This would be the first time fans of the 90s show would be able to see the original cast all together on their tv screens. The petition is looking for 10,000 electronic signatures and currently sits at 9,091.

Hopefully, Yost and the rest of the cast are able to join together to defend the universe once again as taking a trip down memory lane would be a blast for plenty of 90s babies who enjoyed watching the show growing up.
