Why Did Two Hawkeye Legends Stop in E. Iowa Last Night? [PHOTOS]

It can only be said so many times that the Iowa Hawkeyes' football offense is absolutely dreadful. Pair Kirk Ferentz's unwillingness to go to backup Alex Padilla, Spencer Petras' yips, the offensive line's ineptitude in protection, and the Cameo prank pulled on Fran McCaffrey and Bob Stoops, and it's tough to see things get much worse.

If only the two Hawkeye legends that made a stop in Coralville were back in the area to suit up in the black and gold once again.

Unfortunately, that's not the case. But, it is cool to see both quarterback Brad Banks and tight end, Dallas Clark, back near the town where they initially made names for themselves.

Apparently, based on the attached tweet, the duo stopped to hang out with former Iowa State quarterback Seneca Wallace.

Wallace clearly has a sponsorship with Wing Stop and took the opportunity to post on social media. But that can't be the only reason these three were back in Iowa -- specifically in Coralville -- right?

I'm assuming there were in the area for the CyHawk game last weekend. Other than that, I couldn't find anything related to why they'd all be around at the same time. I mean, who knows? Maybe they all love the Wing Stop in Coralville so much that they just all craved it at the same time. I don't know. I ain't judgin'.

Over their playing time in college, these three shared the field for two games in 2001 and 2002, both of which resulted in Iowa State wins. In 2001 the Cyclones took the victory 17-14 and in 2002 they did it again, winning 36-31. Those two wins were part of a five-game winning streak ISU held over Iowa from 1998 to 2002.

The 2002 loss was also the only regular season game the Hawkeyes dropped that season. Iowa went on to win the Big 10 and fell to USC, 38-17 in the Rose Bowl that year.

Iowa State proceeded to go 7-7 and fall in the Humanitarian Bowl to Boise State, 34-16.
