Sometimes you have to get creative.

Consider this your reminder to check your car to make sure things like your headlights and taillights work, especially before driving at night, or you could end up like this driver in Wisconsin.

Door County deputies pulled over a driver on Friday night that kinda unconventionally replaced a headlight. The driver wasn't even pulled over for the headlight issue, instead they were pulled over for speeding on State Highway 42.

And what deputies found was a...choice.

At least they tried to keep some kind of light in the headlight spot?

The sheriff's office acknowledged that in a Facebook post, saying in part:

While an attempt was made to increase visibility, a flashlight is not a safe or legal replacement for proper headlights.

I still feel like there are a lot of questions with this. Did the headlights just go out that day? Or was this one of those long-standing procrastinating issues? Can we blame the snow for any of this? Are red Christmas lights an acceptable taillight? Did the driver ever forget to click off the flashlight whenever they got out of the car?

Though it's a creative approach to a problem, it's still not legal. The sheriff's office reminds drivers to check this kind of thing on your car to make sure all of it is working fine.

Meanwhile, as for the problem-solving driver in this case, the Door County sheriff's office didn't specify if the driver is facing any additional citations for the "solution".
