Justin Roberts Joins the KCRG First Alert Weather Team
A familiar face is returning to a green-screen weather map near you!
Justin Roberts will be joining the KCRG TV-9 First Alert Weather Team. KCRG reports that Justin will be joining the KCRG TV-9 Morning News Monday through Friday. He'll deliver the weather and work alongside current anchors Jackie Kennon and Kristin Rogers. He'll start his new shift on September 3rd.
Roberts was a fixture doing weather for CBS2 and FOX 28 for a decade before leaving in 2017. He made his return to television last year when he began hosting the TV show Everyday Iowa on KCRG TV-9. Roberts hosts the hour-long show with Catherine Blades and Christina Jensen. KCRG reports that Roberts will continue his hosting duties on Everyday Iowa as well as his new role on the morning news.
With Roberts heading to the morning news, KCRG reports that meteorologist Corey Thompson will deliver the weather weeknights at 10 p.m. alongside anchors Beth Malicki and Jim Mertens. He'll also assist Joe Winters in severe weather coverage during the KCRG newscasts at 4, 5, and 6 p.m. Winters will now be giving the weather forecast during the KCRG news at midday and evenings.
I've known Justin for years. He has been a trusted voice on television, radio, and at numerous live events throughout the corridor. We look forward to him providing our weather forecasts and seeing him on KCRG TV-9. Congratulations Justin!
