All of the Best New Fair Food Winners at the Iowa State Fair [GALLERY]

The 2025 Iowa State Fair is officially over, which means that a winner has been crowned in the Best New Fair Food Competition!

2025 Best New Fair Food Finalists

Back in July, the Iowa State Fair unveiled more than 60 new fair foods that would debut in 2025, as well as the top 11 finalists for the Best New Fair Food Competition. The top 11 included:

• Bacon Chicken Ranch Eggroll, Winn & Sara's Kitchen
• Nashville Hot Chicken Mac n' Cheese Pizza Slice, Wiseguys Woodfired Pizza
• Three Little Pigs, Whatcha Smokin? BBQ
• Maple Bacon Bourbon Grilled Cheese, What's Your Cheez
• Chicken Pickle Ranch Rocket on a Stick, JR's SouthPork Ranch
• Sweet Granny's Apple Delight Sundae, Applishus
• The Butter Cow Tornado, Dairy Zone
• The Scotcheroo Shake, Over The Top
• Potato Half & Half Korean Corn Dog, GoldenKDog
• Hawaiian Hog, Iowa Pork Producers
• HoQ Lamb Wrap, HoQ

After a big tasting event held at the Iowa State Fairgrounds on July 15th (which we were invited to attend!), the top 11 was narrowed down the the top THREE. Those three were the Bacon Chicken Ranch Eggroll from Winn & Sara's Kitchen, the Three Little Pigs from Whatcha Smokin? BBQ, and the Scotcheroo Shake from Over The Top. Fairgoers were then able to vote on their favorite of the three during the 2025 fair.

2025 Winners

For the second year in a row, Winn & Sara's Kitchen was the 2025 People's Choice Best New Food winner! The Bacon Chicken Ranch Eggroll was the clear favorite in the competition. According to the press release:

"There were 10,711 votes for the People's Choice Best New Food this year. The Bacon Chicken Ranch Eggroll received 44.7% of the votes. The Scotcheroo Shake from Over the Top placed second with 32.3% of the votes, and Three Little Pigs from Whatcha Smokin? BBQ was third with 23%."

There were a few other awards given away this year for new fair beverages. The Best New Drink (with Alcohol) was the Pink Pony Cooler from JR's SouthPork Ranch, and the Best New Drink (Alcohol Free) was the Watermelon Lemonade from Jada's Funnel Cake.
