The injury bug has hit Iowa hard again. And this was a bye week!

Iowa quarterback Brendan Sullivan got beat up pretty good during Iowa's road loss at UCLA. The Hawkeye quarterback committed three turnovers and left the game early due to injuries. It appears that those injuries are serious enough to keep Sullivan out the rest of the regular season. Dear Old Gold sites the report from 24/7 Sports who reported the news earlier this morning.

It appears that Sullivan is suffering from a severe ankle injury which will keep him from playing in Iowa's two remaining regular season games versus Maryland and Nebraska. While Iowa is already bowl-eligible, Dear Old Gold reports two more wins would significantly improve the Hawkeye's bowl destination.

So if not Sullivan, who starts at quarterback for Iowa? Cade McNamara started the year off as the starter, but was eventually replaced by Sullivan. He is continuing to work his way back from a concussion. If McNamara can't go, it will likely come down to redshirt sophomore and fellow transfer Jackson Stratton, who saw some playing time late against UCLA.

The Hawkeyes currently sit at 6-4 overall and 4-3 in Big Ten play. They play at Maryland on Saturday with kickoff at 11 a.m.
