Iowa Women Undefeated in Big Ten Play

The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports that the I11th ranked owa women's basketball team topped Oregon Thursday night before a sellout crowd at Carver Hawkeye Arena, 74-66. The Hawkeyes improve to 6-0 in Big Ten play, and are tied for first place with UCLA. Hannah Stuelke scored 18 points, 8 rebounds, and a career high 8 assists in the win, according to the Gazette.

Heralded Freshman Has Career Best Game

Freshman Addie Deal, one of the highest recruits of the Jan Jensen era at Iowa, had a career night for Iowa. The Gazette reports that Deal had a career high of 18 points in the win, including a perfect 4 for 4 from three-point range. Prior to the career game, Deal was averaging a modest 5.2 points per game on the season. The Gazette reports that Hawkeye coach Jan Jensen noted that "This is what I was hoping for her, but I wasn't expecting it from Day 1."

Iowa Women at Home Again This Weekend

Another ranked opponent comes to Carver this weekend. The Gazette reports that Iowa hosts #15 Michigan State at 7 p.m. on Sunday. The Spartans are 6-1 in the Big Ten and sit in second place in the conference, just behind the Hawkeyes. The game will be televised by the Big Ten Network.
