The Fairfax Dairy Queen building is no longer empty! Thanks to a new article from the Cedar Rapids Gazette, we now know that a new tenant has taken over the space. It's called Mikey's Ice Cream & Grill, and it officially opened its doors to the public on June 7th.

According to a photo of the menu posted by a customer on Facebook, Mikey's offers a variety of ice cream flavors, plus dipped ice cream cones, malt & milkshakes, sundaes, banana splits, and 'Mixers.' Other food options include burgers, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, tenderloins, salads, chicken strips, fries, onion rings, and other fried goodies.

There are only two reviews of Mikey's on Google so far, but both of them give the eatery five stars! One of the reviews is from user Hailey Reiling, and she writes:

"The ice cream was very good! I’m so glad that old dairy queen closed and this AMAZING Local Business took over! Will be going back for sure."

The other review from Carson Carpenter says that the tenderloin and fries were both great and were "worth the trip and worth the price."

Mikey's doesn't seem to have an official website just yet, but the Google profile reports that it is now open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The official address is 513 Williams Blvd in Fairfax.
