Comedy Legend Bill Murray is Coming to Des Moines

When you say the name Bill Murray a myriad of movies come to mind. Ghostbusters, Caddyshack, Groundhog Day, and many more. The Saturday Night Live alum is a comedy legend and will make a rare Iowa stop in 2025!

When I heard that Bill Murray was going to be in Iowa I thought, wow, he's still doing standup shows at his age? This Bill Murray show won't be just comedy, it will be about music. Bill Murray and his Blood Brothers will play the Val Air Ballroom in Des Moines in April of 2025 according to the Des Moines Register. Yes, Bill Murray the blues artist. Who knew?

So who exactly are these 'Blood Brothers' that Murray is playing with? The Register reports that they are the blues and roots guitar duo of Mark Zito and Albert Castiglia. The long-time musicians have each won the Blues Rock Artist of the Year Award. The group made its debut in 2024 and its Blood Brothers album won the Blues Music Award for Blues Rock Album of the Year according to the Register.

Bill Murray and His Blood Brothers will play in Des Moines on April 11th, 2025. Tickets for the show go on sale Friday, December 13th at 10 a.m. at AXS.com. However, there is a special presale on December 11th at 10 a.m. using the code word BMBROTHERSVAB.

Perhaps not the Bill Murray show you thought you were going to get, but proof that the comedy legend can do anything. I wonder if any golf courses will be open by April 11th?
