An article on MSN from Taste of Home outlines the best small town restaurants in all 50 states, and the pick for Iowa is a place I've never heard of before. It's called 209 Main, and it's located in Paton, Iowa, which is over near Boone.

According to the article, the menu at 209 Main "consists of contemporary comfort foods, like the Triple Threat: a grilled pork loin sandwich topped with bacon jam and maple-bacon mayonnaise!" They also offer burgers, steak, broasted chicken, pizza, appetizers, a brunch buffet, and an all-you-can-eat soup and salad bar.
