Abelardo’s is Getting Ready to Open Its Third Corridor Location
A popular Mexican chain is "opening soon" in Johnson County! Abelardo's Mexican Fresh recently announced on Facebook that their Coralville location is preparing to open in the near future. The post reads:
The new location here in the Corridor will be at 746 Coral Ridge Ave in Coralville, directly next to Midwest Mattress and across the road from Lowe's. It appears that the space does have a drive-thru, just like the Cedar Rapids locations. The first Abelardo's to open in the area was at 4401 1st Ave SE, the former home of Taco John's, and the most recent opening was in late April at 11 Wilson Ave Dr SW, which used to be a Dairy Queen. This will be the first Abelardo's in Johnson County, but the third overall in the Corridor.
According to their website, Abelardo's is a Nebraska-based business that has expanded to over 50 locations across six states in the past few years. The extensive menu features both breakfast and lunch/dinner options, including tacos, tortas, tostadas, enchiladas, rice bowls, burritos, nachos, quesadillas, and more. You can check out the full menu HERE.
As far as reviews go, the 1st Ave location has 4.2-stars on Google, and the Wilson Ave location has 4.6-stars. The most popular items ordered on DoorDash include fried tacos, carne asada quesadillas, the Texas Rice Bowl, the Super Nachos, tamales, churros, enchiladas, and Super Fries.
We don't have an official opening date for the new Coralville Abelardo's just yet, but we will give you an update when its announced! In the meantime, you can follow the official Facebook page HERE.
