Folks in Cascade will soon have a new place to enjoy dinner and drinks! 1891 Saloon & Eatery is set to open its doors in the very near future!

1891 Saloon & Eatery is located at 231 1st Ave W in Cascade, the former home of Two Gingers' Tavern. Two Gingers' Tavern opened in 2016 after taking over the space from Dagwood’s Pub, which had been there for 17 years!

Two Gingers' Tavern announced their closure on Facebook back on September 3rd, writing:

"Since December 2016, we at Two Gingers' Tavern have had the privilege of being the place you go to meet your friends, celebrate milestones, and just kick back and have a cold one.

Now, in September 2024, we are closing Two Gingers' Tavern to pass the baton to its next operators."

The last day in business for Two Gingers' Tavern was Friday, September 13th, and in the time since, 1891 Saloon & Eatery has been preparing to open. The new bar and restaurant is a sister establishment to another Jones County business, The Market at the Tap. Krystina & Matt Kumley opened the Market at the Tap in Monticello in 2023 (which was just announced as one of the finalists for the Iowa Pork Producers' 2024 Best Iowa Tenderloin Contest!), and they said on Facebook that they are "looking forward to becoming another great spot in town for a delicious meal, drinks, live music, bingo, and fun times with friends and family!"

1891 Saloon & Eatery isn't open just yet, but it looks like they will begin welcoming customers any day now! For the latest updates from the new business, you can follow the official Facebook page HERE.
