Free Skate at Ely Ice Rink

Make your way to the Ely Ice Rink on Sunday, December 30 from 1-3 p.m. for an afternoon of hockey and skating! Members of the Cedar Rapids Hockey Association, the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena and RoughRiders Hockey have organizted a FREE mobile skate unit for the first time ever! Ely will be the first stop of the season.

Nearly 60 pairs of youth skates and a variety of sticks and pucks WILL BE PROVIDED. Participants MUST bring their own helmet if they want to skate during the designated hours of the event. Bike helmets will work and bring your own skates if you have them. Parents will need to sign a wavier at the start of the event so please make sure a guardian is present.

There will be some special guests too that may include RoughRiders, members of the CR High School hockey team, and other adult league players.
