Cedar Rapids' favorite golfing son Zach Johnson won the British Open today. He outdueled Louis Oosheuizen and Marc Leishman in a four-hole playoff to win the 144th Open at St. Andrews.

"I'm at a loss for words. I'm grateful, humbled. I'm thankful. I'm honored. This is the birthplace of the game." -Zach Johnson to NBC Sports after the victory.

Johnson beat Oosthuizen by one and Leishman by three in the playoff as the three players ended regulation at 15-under.

A monster birdie putt put him in position to enter the playoff. It's his second major. Johnson won the Masters in 2007.

Johnson joins Tiger Woods, Nick Faldo, Seve Ballesteros, Jack Nicklaus and Sam Sneed as the only golfers to ever win at the Old Course and at Augusta.

A sweet Cedar Rapids homecoming is in the works for our hero! His bank account grows by $1.8 million.
