If he hadn't shuffled off this mortal coil nearly 20 years ago, I ask myself "What Would Kurt Do" at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony in April? Where would Nirvana be two decades on? Would it even exist in it's original form? Would Kurt still be married to Ms. Love? Would Krist Novoselic have stayed in the limelight? Would the Foo Fighters exist? Dave Grohl could make one hell of a documentary to chronicle a full-fledged Nirvana journey, that much I know.

Yesterday, Nirvana took a nomination in its first year of eligibility, 25 years after its "Bleach" debut. You knew that one was a slam dunk. Imagine a Nirvana discography with 19 additional years behind it.

They are joined by Kiss and Peter Gabriel. Also ground-breaking artists getting well-deserved nods. I remember when Gene Simmons was asked if getting KISS memorabilia into the Rock Hall facility in Cleveland would be good exposure for the band. The Demon replied "Exposure? We're KISS!!!"

I hope Ozzy joins Gabriel on stage for "Shock The Monkey." Rock powerhouses Hall & Oates, Linda Ronstadt and Cat Stevens also will be inducted April 10 in Brooklyn. HBO plays it all back in May.

N.W.A. didn't make the cut.  "F*** Tha Voters!"

Stand by for a load of Pop/Country artists to start making their way in. Or, as Tom Petty calls that genre: "Bad Rock With a Fiddle."
