Everyone has a different internal happy temp. Some people like the thermostat set at 62, some at 72. Same goes for motorcycling temperature thresholds. Some can ride almost all year round, while others put it away at the first sign of a chill in the air.

My friend Craig has a Yamaha FJR. This "Fidger" zooms in any weather. Or, at least anything over 6 degrees above zero. He's an Iron Butt. Those guys ain't bothered by a little chill. If the roads are ice-free and daytime temps are above 6, he's riding to work.

I once had stomach surgery and just couldn't wait to get on my new bike. It was February 1995. Had more than a tummy ache on my way to Epworth that day.

Modern bikes have grip warmers and all sorts of ways to ward off the cold, including state-of-the-art clothing. Wonder how this woman would fare on a February day in the Hawkeye State...

One region that won't see alot of winter riding in the near term is Western New York. If you can't get your garage door open, the bike is staying put.

Or, maybe you wait for the second round of 2-3 feet of snow and do some shopping for a bike with spikes.

I hope we get a good ice storm, then a blizzard. I need some adventure time on the motorcycle.
