The Minnesota Vikings will take on the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving day. The game will be on CBS, with a start time of 11:30 a.m.

This is a big deal for my family. Growing up in Minnesota, we became huge fans of the team in purple. My dad and I watched every game together. When the Vikings play on Thanksgiving, it's always a big deal.

My mother hates it, because we'll have to schedule the meal around the game. I'm guessing we won't eat until after the Vikings win...And that's just fine with me.

This is only the seventh time the Vikings have played on Thanksgiving. I sure hope they win on Thursday. Dad's always grumpy when they lose, that's never fun.

This is an important game for both teams. Minnesota and Detroit are tied for first place in the NFC North Division. Both teams are 6-4. Detroit is a three point favorite in Las Vegas. I think it will be a close game, Minnesota wins 21-17.

I found a picture of my favorite Viking's memory on Thanksgiving. It was 1998, Minnesota had just defeated the Dallas Cowboys 46-36. Randy Moss was the hero of that game. He won John Madden's "Turkey Leg Award!". My family and I celebrated all night long.
