Folks in the Ellis Harbor area Sunday were witness to quite a commotion, and now we know more details.

Reports of a car sinking into the Cedar River brought police to the scene around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, when a woman and two children were found exiting the vehicle onto ski boats.

The incident is still under investigation, but the following photo from a spectator on the scene was taken Sunday in Mohawk Park.

According to a Cedar Rapids Fire Department press release, the female and two children were taken to the hospital. There is no word on their injuries, if any. Stay tuned for more details on the weekend incident.
