USPS And Other Government Agencies To Suspend Service Wednesday

Don't panic when the mail isn't in your box this Wednesday, December 5th. There's a very special reason.

The nation's government has declared a "day of mourning" for the late President George H.W. Bush, who died last week at the age of 94. Most mail delivery and administrative and retail services through the post office will be suspended, with a limited number of packages being delivered to prevent backlog.

USA Today says the funeral of the former President will take place Wednesday, with his flag-draped coffin lying in state in the interim.

In fact, most federal government employees will be excused from work, except those whose roles are deemed "crucial" by the heads of their agencies. Learn more here.

Political leanings aside, Bush was a leader who has earned this show of respect, as all Presidents have. Our country is grateful to the service of President Bush.
