UNI Legends Nominated For 2023 Hall of Fame

The University of Northern Iowa is honoring multiple exceptional athletes this year.

Receiving an invitation to your alma mater's Hall of Fame is a very special honor.

Multiple athletes with deep roots in Cedar Falls will be inducted into the UNI Athletics Hall of Fame. This class has a wide variety of former student athletes.

According to UNI officials, there will be six honorees at this year's ceremony.

  • Former Panther Quarter Back
• Sean Stender
  • Wrestling
• UNI 2010-11 women's basketball team

• Karen (Vande Voort) Harrell 
  • Softball
    • Merlin Taylor Academic Hall of Fame Award

The 2023 Hall of Fame Induction will take place on Saturday, September 8th. It is set to begin at 5:30 PM with a social hour, then dinner will begin at 6:30 PM, and the program will begin at 7:20 PM.

Adult meal tickets are $40 and children's (11 and under) are only $11. 

The day after this ceremony, this year's induction class will be honored on Sunday, September 9th in the UNI-Dome at halftime of the Weber State football game.

This game is slated to kick off at around 4:00 PM.
