In light of the release of 'Gone Girl' --David Fincher's film adaptation of Gillian Flynn's best-selling novel -- this past weekend, Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor appeared on 'CBS This Morning: Saturday' to discuss his role in scoring the music for the film. You can watch the interview below.

Reznor discusses working with Atticus Ross, a repeat co-writer of his, as well as how the writing process for film is so different from his Nine Inch Nails material. Reznor explains his NIN strategy -- “I try to dress the visual with sound and the song comes out the other end, that’s probably why my songs aren’t that catchy" -- compared to how he and Ross approached 'Gone Girl' -- “We adopted this strategy of trying to get inside David’s head."

The two award-winning writers won an Oscar for best original music in 'The Social Network' and a Grammy for 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' -- will they be up for an award for this one?
