Super Bowl LIII (53) is just a week away and the rosters of the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams will both feature former Hawkeyes.

The lone member of the Los Angeles Rams from Iowa is offensive lineman Austin Blythe. Big #66 (6'3 298 pounds) is in his third season in the NFL, and second with Los Angeles. He played his rookie season with the Indianapolis Colts. Blythe played for the Williamsburg Raiders in high school, before becoming the snapper for the University of Iowa. Blythe started every game this season for the 15-3 Rams.

The 13-5 New England Patriots roster has two former Hawkeyes, including James Ferentz. The son of Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz, James (6'2" 300 pounds) was moved from the practice squad to the 53-man roster in early November. A 2012 graduate of the University of Iowa, Ferentz played at City High of Iowa City. He was part of the Denver Broncos team that won Super Bowl 50 in 2016.

Iowa is one of only 12 schools that have at least three players on the active rosters of the teams in Super Bowl 53. Georgia and Rutgers are the only teams with four.

New England will be trying to win their 6th Super Bowl with Tom Brady at Quarterback, who's playing in his ninth title game. The Rams will be looking to win their second Super Bowl. They won it in 2000 when they were in St. Louis. Former Cedar Rapids Regis prep and University of Northern Iowa Panther Kurt Warner threw for 414 yards, and two touchdowns, in the game.

You can watch Super Bowl LIII live from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia Sunday, February 3. Kickoff is 5:30 p.m., Iowa time, on CBS.
