The job pays a median salary of nearly $40,000 and the field is expected to grow at a rate of nearly 106% through 2026, far better than the national average. Wind turbine technicians are the fastest growing job in the Hawkeye state. These workers inspect and repair wind turbine as well as provide maintenance and other services. They earn an average of $26 per hour and an average salary of $54,000 a year. But you have to be O.K. with heights.
