Theatre Cedar Rapids Announces 2016 – 17 Season

Thursday night (3/10), Theatre Cedar Rapids announced their line up for the 2016-17 season.  You can check out the tremendous variety of shows that are on tap for next season by reading below.

Of course, we're not done with the 2015-16 season yet.  The current season will run into the summer.  KRNA fans should be excited about Green Day's American Idiot opening July 1st.  Hamlet (opening April 1) and The Little Mermaid (opening May 13) are still on this season's calendar as well.

Theatre Cedar Rapids is located at the corner of Third Street and First Avenue in dontown Cedar Rapids.  As their website states, their vision is "to be the champion of the arts enriching our community".  Here is the schedule for next season:

• The Flick — opens Aug. 26 in the Grandon Studio
• Sister Act — opens Sep. 16 on the main stage
• Studio Cabaret — opens Sep. 23 in the Grandon Studio
• Tribes — opens Oct. 21 in the Grandon Studio
• Disney’s Beauty and the Beast — opens Nov. 18 on the main stage
• Studio Improv — opens Nov. 25 in the Grandon Studio
• Next Fall — opens Jan. 13 on the main stage
• Underground New Play Festival — opens Feb. 3 in the Grandon Studio
• Assassins — opens Feb. 17 on the main stage
• The Crucible — opens Mar. 24 on the main stage
• Vinegar Tom — opens Mar. 31 in the Grandon Studio
• Peter Pan — opens May 5 on the main stage
• The Bully Plays — opens May 26 in the Grandon Studio
• Billy Elliot the Musical — opens June 30 on the main stage
