The World’s 6th Richest Person Was in Eastern Iowa Friday

Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook (now valued at $400 billion), is visiting places all over the U.S. this year. He made the promise via a Facebook post in January saying, in part,

While I'll be traveling around the US, the purpose of this challenge is relevant everywhere. We could all benefit from listening and learning about how more people are living, working and thinking about the future."

Zuckerberg, 33, the 6th richest person in the world who was worth $63.3 billion last month according to Time, made two stops in eastern Iowa on Friday. The first was in Wilton, in Cedar and Muscatine counties south of Interstate 80, where Zuckerberg stopped by The Candy Kitchen for a chocolate malt and some conversation.

Zuckerberg's second stop took him to the World's Largest Truck Stop at Walcott.

It would've been something to have him sit down next to you, wouldn't it? You talk about a shock. One of the best things about Mark Zuckerberg is that he's following in the footsteps of the world's richest person, Bill Gates (worth $87.8 billion). Mark and his wife, Priscilla Chan, have promised to give away 99% of their money via the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.
