One of the most popular Freedom Festival events of the year was canceled earlier this summer. But tonight, Balloon Glow is back! Wet weather caused the initial celebration back in June to be called off. Tonight, the glow will happen but not at the traditional location of Brucemore in Cedar Rapids.

Tonight's Balloon Glow will take place at Bo-Town Entertainment Park in the Newbo District, at 1430 2nd street SE. Gates for the event will open up at 5 p.m. Admission is still free if you saved your Freedom Festival Button from earlier this summer. Buttons will be available to purchase at the gate tonight for $5.

Many of the same rules at Brucemore will still apply tonight. Coolers with beer and wine will be allowed on the grounds. No pets or fireworks will be allowed, and smoking is NOT permitted. You can also bring in a blanket or bag chair. Food will be available to purchase on sight, and there will be Cedar Ridge Winery will be on hand too. Shuttles will be running and making stops at White Star Ale House, Smulekoffs, and Lot 44. Shuttles will run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The musical entertainment tonight is Arch Allies.
