I don't know how long it's been since I've gone fishing, but this might be a good weekend for me to pick it back up.

KWQC reports that June 2-4 in Iowa will be a free fishing weekend, as the Iowa Department of Natural Resources will not require a fishing license this weekend.

The DNR also plans to have a number of fun events around the state to celebrate the free fishing weekend, including fishing clinics, derbies and more. Find out more about these events at the DNR website.

It sounds like a lot of fun and a good chance for families to connect and teach the kids about the importance of outdoor activity, not just staring at screens.

Get your fish on for free this weekend, and stop back here to share your some of your big catches!
